Friday Finish - Guitar Boy

I actually got this back from the quilter in October, but I was so busy during the holidays that I did no sewing of any sort. This is the quilt that I made for my nephew who will be graduating from high school this year. You can find my first post here

Here is the finished quilt. I got the binding and label on it Monday.

Anneke Wheaton from The Last Stitch long-arm quilting did a beautiful job. I had guitars and music notes quilted all over it.

Back view.

I am very happy with the way it turned out.

Playing with scraps

Today I have been playing with scraps. I have had this quilt block idea stuck in my head for awhile. Today I sat down and put a block together.

I think I am going to take some black  and put a small border around the block. I also came up with a long rectangle, possible strip to use within the quilt.

Like I said just playing with scraps.

Updated 1/28/16 - Picture with border.
This will be how the blocks will be put together.

This quilt will be 72" x 72" when finished.

Little Knight's Quest baby quilt

I whipped up the second baby quilt on my list. I chose a panel from Northcott's Little Knight's Quest line. I just fell in love with this cute panel and the coordinating fabrics. They are just too cute. It is a good thing that I had a strict budget for this one.

Here is the picture of the top pinned and ready to be quilted.

Here is a close up of the panel.

Here is the really cute dragon background fabric.

The quilt needed a little more pop of color,
so I did the binding in a really nice orange that matches the dragons.

Snoopy Flying Ace Baby Quilt

I have a new love of panel baby quilts. I need to make 3 baby quilts before May. Two boy and one girl. One of the boy quilts needed to be done like yesterday. Because my November and December were so slammed due to work. I had no time for anything else. So I ordered a few really cute fabric panels with coordinating fabric for 2 borders and background.

Snoopy was the first on the list to do. It only took me a few hours to cut borders and sew the quilt top together. I am so happy with the way it looks. Cute but simple. Tomorrow I will put the layers together and quilt it up. Here it is.

Here is the cute background fabric I picked out.

Snoopy is finished here is the picture.
