Update - January's project

January's project is almost done. There were a few changes made. First the afghan will be a Christmas present for my daughter. The store didn't have enough of the color I wanted , so I decided to make my daughter the afghan. Second, I change the pattern I was going to do. After doing 6 rows I just didn't like the way it looked. It was too airy. I wanted something a little bit more compact, but still fluffy. I should be done with it by the weekend unless I need to go get more yarn.

Cat toy basket

My daughter and I went to Micheal's yesterday to get the yarn for the afghan for this months project. While we were there we decided to look at the baskets. I needed one for my cat's toys and she needed one for her puppy's toys. We both had put $20.00 dollar baskets in the cart. After picking out the yarn we headed over to see what Christmas stuff was left. There were many baskets at 80% off, so we both found baskets that were the right size and put the other ones back. I got mine for just a few dollars.

This is what it looked like when I bought it.

This what it looked like with the cover off.

This is my new kitty toy basket and there is still room for more toys.

A project a month

My goal this year is to try and do one project every month. My first project is going to be this really nice crocheted afghan that I want to put in my living room.

I will be doing it in a blue tone. Here is the link to when you can find the direction if you want to make one too. Afghan directions. I will be posting the finished project.
